Job summary

Rosendin is seeking a Project Control Specialist for the renewable energy EPC sector. You will monitor financial performance, expenditures, and field data, focusing on equipment rental costs and training field teams to ensure project efficiency.

You’ll escalate cost, billing, and forecasting concerns to the Project Controls Manager. You’ll train field teams, perform variance analysis, and support ad-hoc reporting to improve project controls processes.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Project Control Specialist tracks financial performance, project expenditures, and field data for renewable energy EPC sector. They focus heavily on equipment rental costs, financial tracking, and providing direct training and execution support to the field team to ensure project efficiency and escalating significant cost, billing, and forecasting concerns to the Project Controls Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Equipment Rental Management: Maintain the rental equipment invoice tracker, track equipment budgets to actual expenditures, report any variances to the project control manager, notify the asset manager when equipment needs to be extended, identify any double billings or over-billings, and ensure equipment PO closeout.

• Field Training: Provide training and ongoing support to field project controls personnel on cost tracking, time-writing, tools, and standardized financial processes.

• Field Problem Solving: Serve as key project controls resources to support field teams in resolving cost tracking and process-related issues. Work closely with site construction teams to validate actual field progress.

• Document & Cost Coding: Assist with site document control, verify proper cost coding for field expenses, and provide general administrative project support where needed.

• Variance Analysis: Compare actual job costs against the financial baseline to identify budget overruns early.

• Strategic Growth: Support the Project Controls Manager with ad-hoc reporting, data analysis, and maintenance of existing project control processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Software Skills: Proficient with Excel, ERP, and cost tracking software

• Field Capability: Strong ability to teach new workflows, time-writing, and change management to remote or on-site construction teams.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Construction Management, or Business, OR 5 + years’ experience in Project Controls in the EPC sector

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of heavy cost controls, field support, or billing management experience in EPC or construction; or 5 years of experience in project controls in the renewable field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

• Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
