Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Project Controls professional to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control for fixed‑price and T&M projects in the United States. You will prepare cost/schedule estimates, manage baselines, and deliver performance reports to clients and internal teams.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, expert budgeting/forecasting skills, and strong knowledge of FAR/CAS and contract administration. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent related experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project controls, budgeting, and cost reporting.
• Candidate must discuss with federal budgeting guidelines (FAR/CAS) and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems.
• Prepare cost and schedule estimates, analyze trends, and provide accruals and variance reports.
• Establish baselines for cost and schedule; monitor variances and recommend actions.
• Support Integrated Master Schedule development and progress reporting.
• Conduct cost/schedule risk analyses and present KPIs to stakeholders.
• Prepare regular performance reports and explain variances to internal/external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to track progress and control expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and reporting requirements; support audits and data validation.
• Continuously improve project control processes for efficiency and accuracy.
