Siemens Mobility invites engineering-minded undergraduates for a 10–12 week internship in Sacramento. You will join the Enterprise Scheduling team to learn how project schedules drive engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and delivery of rail vehicles.

You will gain hands-on experience with tools like Primavera P6, SAP, and Tableau, support master schedules, and contribute to risk management and planning, while growing your analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS in Engineering.
  • Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Prior internship or co‑op experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Industry knowledge and/or interest in rail.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule projects and manage timelines within Enterprise Scheduling.
  • Support project management and planning activities.
  • Assist in operations and factory planning tasks.
  • Contribute to capacity planning and lean improvements.
  • Work with MBOMs and manufacturing data.
  • Use Tableau to develop dashboards and insights.
  • Apply Primavera for scheduling and sequencing.
  • Engage with SAP data and reporting.
  • Collaborate across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support risk analysis and decision‑making processes.

We are looking for a Project Controls Engineering Intern. This position will be based at our Sacramento area branch located in California.

During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Enterprise Scheduling department where you will learn how schedule management plays a crucial role in project operations and management. You will engage with the team in managing complex project schedules that integrate the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing aspects of our Rolling Stock portfolio, including light rail vehicles, electric locomotives, diesel‑electric locomotives, and passenger coaches. Your contributions will help ensure that project timelines are efficiently controlled and aligned across advanced Rail Vehicle Projects.
