The Weitz Company, LLC in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Construction Scheduler to manage project scheduling, cost control, and reporting across multiple active projects. You will coordinate with project teams, drive improvements, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates bring a strong background in construction scheduling, cost reporting, and team leadership, with emphasis on LEAN practices and effective communication.

Formación

• 7 years of construction PM, scheduling, or cost controls experience.
• LEAN principles experience desirable; OSHA 30 preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and monitor compliance with project scheduling, quality control and reporting requirements.
• Create, monitor and manage project financials and cost reporting.
• Ensure weekly schedule updates; address long lead items with project leadership.
• Review schedule updates and cost projections with project teams.
• Understand contract terms to keep work in progress within scope; coordinate with project members.
• Collaborate to implement and monitor quality control plans and related programs.
• Assess workflows and systems to maximize utilization; identify process enhancements.
• Lead regular project meetings.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts (preliminary schedule, constructability issues).
• Partner with project team to implement and achieve project goals.
• Foster relationships; initiate third-party relationships when opportunities arise.
• Identify and approve value engineering and scope reductions within delegated authority.
• Some business travel is required.

Job Description:

What You’ll Do Every Day:

• Manage and monitor compliance with project scheduling, quality control (if applicable) and reporting requirements
• Create, monitor and manage project financials and cost reporting
• Ensure project schedule is updated weekly; identify and address long lead items; discuss with project leadership as needed
• Review schedule updates and status, cost updates and cost projections with project teams
• Understand contract terms and obligations to ensure work in progress is within scope; coordinate and communicate with applicable project team members
• Collaborate with project team to implement and monitor compliance of project quality control plan and related programs, if applicable
• Assess and monitor established workflows and/or systems to ensure maximum utilization across platforms; identify and initiate process enhancements
• Lead regular project meetings
• Assist with preconstruction efforts (i.e. create preliminary schedule, detect constructability issues)
• Partner with project team to implement and execute project goals
• Foster and maintain working relationships with all personnel involved in the construction process; initiate third party relationships when opportunities arise
• Identify and approve value engineering and scope reduction opportunities within delegated authority
• Some business travel is required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education:
  • A college degree in a construction-related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience:
  • 7 years of construction project management, project scheduling, or cost controls experience is required
  • LEAN principles experience and ability to apply principles is desirable. OSHA 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Skills:
  • Independent judgment, ability to multi-task, decision making, organizational skills, self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, problem-solving, effective internal and external communication, project management, team leadership, tact, adaptability and analytical abilities are all necessary skills for a Scheduler.
• Technology:
  • Proficiency with operating systems and basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Asta, P6, Procore, JDE, and Outlook.
  • Employee must have the ability to learn other specific software. Training will be provided.
