Job summary

At Motive Power, a dynamic consulting firm serving the US Utility sector, we seek a Project Controls Manager to lead the project controls team through the full lifecycle. You will partner with project managers to set baselines, develop and integrate schedules, manage change control, and report performance to stakeholders.

You will implement standards, mentor staff, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in project controls, including leadership of project controls teams.
• Proficiency with project management software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
• PMI PMP or similar certification (CAPM, PMI-SP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the project controls team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with project managers to establish baselines for schedule and scope.
• Implement and enforce project controls standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain project schedules, aligning owner and contractor timelines.
• Monitor and report on project performance, including schedule progress and risks.

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Controls Manager to lead and support the project controls team throughout the project lifecycle. You will partner with project managers to establish baselines, develop and integrate schedules, manage change control and risk assessments, and report project performance to stakeholders. You will also implement project controls standards and support the training, mentoring, and development of project controls personnel.

• Develop, integrate, and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment between owner and contractor timelines.

• Manage and document project changes through a formal change control process.
• Facilitate quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and track mitigation actions.
• Conduct project reviews and performance assessments to ensure compliance with established controls.
• Prepare and deliver regular project status and performance reports to stakeholders.
• Support training, mentoring, and development of project controls personnel.
• Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all project activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in project controls, including leadership of project controls teams.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in utilities, construction, oil and gas, or renewable energy industries is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

• PMI certified PMP or similar certification (CAPM, PMI-SP).
• AACE certification (CCT, CST, CCP, or PSP).

The anticipated wage range for this position is $-$ per year based on relevant factors such as experience, education, location, and qualification. In addition to base pay, Motive Power offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, $2,500 towards a fully electric EV, plus more.
