Job summary

Gridworks in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead scheduling, cost control, and resource planning for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. You will guide the project controls team and provide reports to stakeholders to keep programs on track.

A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in project controls are required, with strong proficiency in Procore, CMiC, Power-BI and P6 preferred. Reactive to travel and a collaborative leadership style welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project/ construction management or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years in project controls, cost, scheduling or planning.
• Experience leading project controls teams for utility-scale solar or storage projects.
• Strong Excel, reporting and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project controls across schedules, costs and resources.
• Provide regular progress reports and EV analysis to stakeholders.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
• Collaborate with PMs to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Train teams in project controls tools and processes.
• Support proposal budgeting and change management.

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project management of utility-scale solar and/or battery storage projects and strong people management experience. In this role, you will be key in ensuring the Project Controls team keep projects on track, within budget, and meet objectives by managing project schedules, costs, and resources, while also providing reports and analysis to stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Take the lead and support project management teams with:

• Preconstruction planning & quantity takeoffs
• Budget creation & management
• Change management & claims
• Cost analysis & forecasting
• Progress updates & performance analysis surrounding earned value management concepts
• Project-specific and company-wide reporting requirements
• Schedule performance & time-impact analysis
• Compiling, reviewing and analyzing project controls related data while interfacing with upper management and project teams on results and providing innovative solutions to scheduling & cost performance
• Train project management in the use of other Project Controls processes, tools & reporting
• Prepare project progress billings
• Assist with proposal budget reviews & cash flows
• Develop processes & procedures as assigned
• May require some travel to project sites
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field, Master’s Degree is a plus
• 5+ years of project controls, cost, scheduling & planning or related work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments
• Exceptional team building skills and ability to collaborate with groups throughout the company
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage complex assignments & multiple projects
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience in CMiC preferred
