Job summary

Michels Underground Cable, Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Lead to drive budgeting, scheduling, and project coordination in our underground cables division.

You will develop and implement procedures, train staff, and ensure projects meet targets while maintaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement. You will support data center and mission-critical deployments, including MV duct banks, substation feeds, underground transmission, and campus distribution systems across diverse

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Finance, or Accounting required or equivalent
• 5+ years of related experience in project controls, cost analysis, or accounting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and common project software

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, scheduling, and project coordination to meet goals within parameters
• Develop and implement standard procedures; train new employees
• Support data center and mission-critical projects focusing on MV duct banks, substation feeds, underground transmission, and campus distribution systems

Position Summary

As a Project Controls Lead, you will be responsible for working with Operations to ensure efficient and effective budgeting, scheduling, and project coordination processes along with ensuring goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within the prescribed parameters . This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and training new employees on standard procedures while fostering a culture of continuous growth and improvement. This role will support data center and mission critical projects while focusing on medium voltage (MV) duct banks, substation feeds, underground transmission, and campus distribution systems.

What It Takes

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting; 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination
• General knowledge of accounting and business operations
• Project cost analysis experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
• Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to various project sites

Desired Qualifications

• B2W Software experience
• Knowledge of P6
• Michels Underground Cable Inc. experience and/or profound knowledge of the construction industry
