Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Coordinator for our Heavy Civil Earthworks team in Boise, ID.

This site-based role involves traveling to project locations across the United States and partnering with field leadership to ensure accurate cost tracking and schedule performance. You will be embedded with onsite teams to provide real-time project controls support, driving efficient operations and clear documentation.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in project controls, field engineering, or related roles in heavy civil construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera).
  • Experience with construction planning software and 3D models.
  • Strong communication and coordination with field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings to support field teams and validate cost and schedule impacts.
  • Track daily/weekly progress for cost and schedule reporting.
  • Develop work packages, activity plans, and project controls docs.
  • Support field surveying and data collection of quantities and progress.
  • Compile and reconcile labor timesheets and equipment reports.
  • Participate in safety reviews and site meetings for hazard awareness.
  • Coordinate materials tracking and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with work planning to align crews with project schedule.
  • Provide project controls oversight including subcontractor coordination.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations for quantity tracking or design changes.

Description

We’re expanding our Heavy Civil Earthworks team and looking for a driven Project Controls Coordinator who’s ready to be at the center of project execution. In this site based role, you’ll travel to project locations across the U.S. and work directly with field leadership to ensure accurate cost tracking, schedule performance, progress measurement, and documentation. You’ll be embedded with onsite teams, providing real time project controls support that keeps our operations aligned, efficient, and moving forward.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to support field teams and validate cost and schedule impacts
  • Perform quantity calculations and track daily/weekly progress of installed work for cost and schedule reporting
  • Assist in developing construction work packages, activity plans, and project controls documentation
  • Support field surveying and layout activities by capturing accurate quantity and progress data
  • Compile, verify, and reconcile daily labor timesheets, equipment reports, and other field-generated data
  • Contribute to safety reviews, toolbox talks, and site-wide safety meetings to ensure hazard awareness and compliance
  • Coordinate materials tracking, delivery schedules, and receipt verification to support cost and schedule alignment
  • Assist with work planning to ensure crews and subcontractors are sequenced efficiently and in alignment with project schedule goals
  • Provide project controls oversight, including subcontractor coordination, tracking cost codes, and monitoring field productivity
  • Conduct basic engineering calculations and support drafting needs related to quantity tracking or design changes
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in project controls, field engineering, project coordination, or similar roles within heavy civil construction, with proven support across multiple earthworks phases
  • Education in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with scheduling tools such as Primavera
  • Experience with construction planning software, model viewers (3D), and document management platforms
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively and engage confidently with field teams and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, including project setup, cost coding, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor coordination, and closeout procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, problem‑solving ability, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel and remain on‑site for the duration of each project
