Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a driven Project Controls Specialist Student to gain real-world experience in cost and schedule management. Under supervision, you will support the project delivery team by developing baselines, collecting progress data, and analyzing variances for basic projects.

You will assist with financial controls, forecasting techniques, and routine performance reporting, interfacing with project teams and management while adhering to safety and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled and taking courses towards a Masters degree.
• Interest in Earned Value Management and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develops basic cost and schedule baselines under direct supervision.
• Collects and analyzes monthly cost and schedule progress; identifies variances.
• Supports implementation of financial controls, procedures, systems and forecasting techniques.
• Gathers project progress information from project manager and team members.
• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates costs.
