Job summary

Nscale, a GPU cloud platform, is seeking a Project Controller to join the Design & Construction team. You will handle financial oversight, administrative setup for data center projects, and collaboration with VP of Commercial Management, Project Managers, and Cost Managers to ensure budgets and schedules are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management is typically preferred.
  • Proven experience in project financial control, cost management, and project administration.
  • Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across business functions, especially data center construction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administrative setup and documentation for new projects from due diligence to delivery.
  • Provide support and tracking for project management and internal stakeholders (Design, Equipment Procurement, Construction Management, Health & Safety).
  • Recommend and implement improvements to project processes.
  • Track and maintain the budget baseline; manage commitments and costs.
  • Administer requisitions, process invoices, manage purchase orders, and coordinate payments.
  • Maintain budget tracking tools and prepare forecasts/reports for stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial and scheduling factors; flag concerns or deviations from baseline.
  • Ensure project activities comply with company policies and regulations.

About the Role

The Project Controller is a key member of the Project Controls team, responsible for the financial and administrative activities of multiple data center construction projects. This role works closely with the VP of Commercial Management (Project Controls), Project Managers, and Cost Managers to ensure rigorous financial oversight, accurate reporting, and adherence to project plans and budgets. The candidate shall be able to work in a dynamic, high-intensity environment and support the DC team achieving project deliverables.

What You’ll be Doing
  • Project Setup — Assist in the administrative setup and documentation for new projects. Support the team from due diligence through project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Support — Provide support and tracking for the project management team and other internal stakeholders, including Design, Equipment Procurement, Construction Management, and Health & Safety.
  • Process Improvement — Recommend and implement improvements to project processes.
  • Cost Management — Track and maintain a view of commitments and costs against the project's established budget baseline.
  • Invoicing & Payment — Administer requisitions, process invoices, manage Purchase Orders (POs), and coordinate payments to vendors.
  • Tracking & Reporting — Maintain budget tracking tools, perform detailed cost tracking, and work with Cost Managers to produce financial forecasts and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Issue Identification — Continuously monitor the projects' financial and scheduling factors, identifying and clearly expressing any concerns or deviations from the baseline.
  • Compliance — Ensure project financial activities comply with company policies and financial regulations.
About You

Required

  • Education — A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management is typically preferred.
  • Experience — Proven experience in project financial control, cost management, and project administration.
  • Technical Skills — Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Suite are required. Familiarity with common project management systems is a plus.
  • Core Competencies — Strong analytical skills, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Communication — Excellent written and verbal communication skills with key requirements in understanding data center construction. Ability to communicate effectively across a number of different business functions.

Salary Range

The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs. Nscale may offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
