We're partnering with a leading client to find a Project Controller to join their team. You'll turn budgets, schedules, and progress data into decisions that keep complex programs on track. Your analysis will shape both the next milestone and the long-term operational goals leadership is planning around. If you enjoy being the trusted voice on cost and schedule in the room, this one is worth a read.
What You'll Own
- Track cost, schedule, and Earned Value Management (EVM) performance across client programs, and turn the numbers into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Build scalable control and reporting tools sized to each project, so teams get the visibility they need without extra overhead.
- Spot inefficiencies early in budgets, schedules, and resource allocation, and propose the fixes that keep milestones on track.
- Identify, assess, and communicate risks and opportunities to client management, project managers, and production leads.
- Keep the work management system (WMS) database accurate through progress updates and change management.
- Partner with project engineers, area leads, and third-party stakeholders while helping champion safety practices, goals, and metrics.
What You Bring
Must-haves
- 5+ years of project controls experience to work, ideally with scope and responsibility that grew over time.
- You'll lean on hands-on experience with cost control, scheduling, and earned value analysis on active programs.
- You'll work daily in Primavera P6 and SAP, so your fluency in both lets you hit the ground running.
- You'll bring a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-haves
- You'll get to use any experience you have designing reporting tools or dashboards from scratch.
- You'll have a head start if you hold an AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) credential such as Earned Value Professional (EVP) or Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), though it isn't required.
What We Offer
- An on-site role working side by side with the project teams and leaders you support
- Your choice of a W2 or 1099 contract arrangement
- Direct access to client leadership and real influence on how programs are controlled and reported
- Room to build new tools and processes, not just maintain existing ones
- A dedicated recruiter as your point of contact from interview through onboarding
About the Team
You'll join a cross-functional group of project managers, engineers, and production leads who rely on solid data to make decisions. Safety and accountability sit at the center of how this team works. The honest draw is that your analysis won't sit in a report nobody reads; it directly shapes what happens at the next milestone.
