Job summary

CFS, based in Hanover, MA, is seeking an experienced Project Controller to manage the financials of multiple construction projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction accounting, strong WIP reporting, and advanced Excel skills. This role offers a hybrid schedule with 4 onsite days and 1 remote day, and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience within the construction industry.
• Strong experience with WIP reporting, job costing, and project accounting.
• Understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting and construction financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working closely with project managers and operations teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial management of multiple construction projects
• Maintain and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
• Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
• Monitor job costing and track project profitability
• Partner with project managers to evaluate project performance and financial results
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Review contract billing, change orders, and revenue recognition
• Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and project accruals
• Identify financial risks and provide recommendations to improve project outcomes
