Job summary

Acro Service Corp is seeking a Project Controls professional in the Chattanooga area to monitor, analyze, and report on project performance. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, maintain cost controls, and support scheduling and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience with major PM tools, and the ability to work on-site with client teams across utilities, energy, or industrial

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in project controls concepts, methodologies, scheduling, cost engineering, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with business planning, budgeting, economic analysis, cost control, and forecasting.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with resource loading and allocation, cost and schedule integration, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with project and work management software such as Primavera, Maximo, PowerPlan, or similar tools.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Associate's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or high school diploma with 5+ years.
  • Bachelor's degree and PMI/AACE certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Track and update project progress, variances, KPIs, and control changes.
  • Analyze cost and schedule trends against baselines and recommend improvements to project performance.
  • Support project performance monitoring, reporting, analysis, trend assessment, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to collect and maintain project data within project management tools and software.
  • Prepare, coordinate, review, and distribute project and work management reports.
  • Develop progress, financial, risk, and other project performance reports.
  • Document project progress and changes and forecast potential cost and schedule impacts.
  • Support project prioritization, change requests, lessons learned, work authorization, work management, and process improvement activities.
  • Assist with business planning and budget development.
  • Ensure effective project controls are in place for cost, schedule, scope, risk, milestones, and project performance.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and financial submittals, including accruals and journal vouchers.
  • Coordinate and participate in project meetings and reviews.
  • Support purchase agreements and monitor project expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and cost information using appropriate project management tools.
  • Prepare schedule scenarios, project benefit analyses, and planning projections.
  • Provide field support and work closely with engineering, plant personnel, project teams, contractors, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project planning, initiation, funding requests, and project closure activities.
  • Prepare project approval packages and supporting documentation.
  • Utilize project management software and tools throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in project controls concepts, methodologies, scheduling, cost engineering, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with business planning, budgeting, economic analysis, cost control, and forecasting.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with resource loading and allocation, cost and schedule integration, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with project and work management software such as Primavera, Maximo, PowerPlan, or similar tools.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, Accounting, Economics, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Marketing, or a related field with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
OR
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of five years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with relevant project controls experience.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or AACE certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting utilities, energy, engineering, construction, or industrial projects is preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site or plant access and medical qualifications, when applicable.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, rotating shifts, and overtime during peak periods as needed.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and field locations as required.
