Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

What to Expect

As the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for delivering planning/scheduling, cost management, estimating, risk management, executive reporting, and change management functions. You will oversee deliverables impacting high-performing teams working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, construction project execution, manufacturing, finance, and facilities teams, ensuring your teams deliver maximum value to our client. This role requires candidates who are dynamic, open-minded, critical thinkers capable of developing and implementing a Project Controls program tailored to our client’s execution practices in an extremely fast-paced design-build environment.

What You’ll Do

  1. Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed resource-loaded integrated EPC project schedules, considering all project lifecycle aspects from design and engineering to construction and commissioning. Monitor progress, identify delays, and work with teams to optimize schedules. Conduct schedule analysis and what-if scenarios to improve or mitigate delays.
  2. Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs for project controls and the program to report on project performance against metrics, including milestones, forecast targets, and earned value management systems. Provide insights into trends and issues, offering proactive solutions.
  3. Cost Management: Develop and implement cost management tools, including budgets, commitments, expenditures, accruals, and invoiced costs. Collaborate with project teams to forecast costs during execution.
  4. Change Management: Support project teams with change processes, streamline information flow, and secure timely approvals.
  5. Estimation: Support the estimation team with benchmarking, project feedback, and process improvements, including transitions from project approval to active spending.
  6. Communication & Reporting: Lead the development and maintenance of project and executive reports, dashboards, and presentations to highlight status, issues, and actions.
  7. Risk Assessment: Identify, evaluate, and quantify project risks, supporting mitigation strategies through collaboration with teams.
  8. Coaching & Mentoring: Mentor colleagues on industry best practices, using effective communication to escalate issues or celebrate successes.
  9. Process Development: Create processes to streamline contractor management, ensuring projects and programs move forward efficiently.
  10. Innovation: Promote an innovative environment within your teams to support our client's success and the transition to sustainable energy.
  11. What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in Project Controls (scheduling, estimating, cost) within manufacturing, data centers, or R&D sectors.
  • Previous managerial experience with four direct reports is preferred.
  • Proven track record managing full lifecycle mega projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present at senior levels.
  • Proactive approach with foresight and adaptability.
  • Ability to train and mentor colleagues.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and lead through challenges.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.
  • Open attitude to innovation and continuous learning.
  • Capacity for long hours on demanding projects.
