PROJECT CONNECT COORDINATOR

Salary Range: $23.48 To $24.54 Hourly

Reports to: Prevention Services Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the programs and services offered through Project Connect which includes monthly LGBTQ health and wellness workshops, a youth mentorship for empowerment program, and best practice trainings to health and human service providers on medically underserved populations.

The major duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

Education

• Develop a year-long health and wellness workshop curriculum that helps priority populations buildimportant skills around healthy relationships and self-care as well as receive information about safe spaces and services in thecommunity;
• Market and promote Project Connect to the community to ensure that programs andservices are appropriate, well-branded and reflective of the needs of thecommunity;
• Recruit and retain a core group of mentors to provide a safe-space and supportive community for youthto discuss their identities
• Conduct outreach to other community-based organizations to raise awareness of the unique needs ofthe target communities and increase capacity to serve thispopulation;
• Represent Project Connect as well as Apicha Community Health Center at various health fairs andother communityevents;

Compliance

• Conduct on-going quality assurance and evaluation activities to ensure that Project Connect is reachingits intended audience and meeting its outlinedgoals;
• Timely submission of project reports and data entry as required byfunder;

Direct Services

• Recruit and retain a core group of mentors to provide a safe-space and supportive community for youthto discuss their identities
• Facilitate a series of informal roundtable discussions with volunteer mentors and young participants covering a wide range of topics (i.e., building supportive networks and self-esteem, coming out to family members and in theworkplace);

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum work experience equivalent to 1 year of full-time work experience or high school diploma/GED and work experience equivalent to 3 years of full-time workexperience.
• Knowledge of health seeking behavior of target population or health belief of targetpopulation
• Ability to work in diverse culturalenvironments;
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonalskills.
• Fluency in one or more Asian languagespreferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings andweekends.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in multi-disciplinaryenvironment.
• Creative, independent team player capable of working within an organizationalstructure.
• Ability to use common office software: Word, Excel, Power Point,Outlook.
