Arcadis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in the Denver, Colorado area. This position would support multiple sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and rail. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and planning of hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, watershed evaluations, and earthwork site design, as well as permit/construction-level drawings and details. Work will entail a mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering.

Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and follows a hybrid work structure. A successful candidate will work from the office and remotely based on demands of project and client teams. 1–2 days per week in the office, travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities
  • Develop hydraulic models and perform calculations.
  • Plan and execute erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout.
  • Perform watershed evaluations and design earthwork sites.
  • Produce permit/construction-level drawings and details.
  • Write technical specifications and reports for civil and environmental permitting.
  • Perform engineering design, permitting, proposal writing, and construction-phase field engineering.
  • Plan, design, and oversee industrial solid waste landfills, wastewater collection and treatment systems, impoundments, channels, levees, drainage systems, stormwater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, roads, and other civil/environmental aspects of infrastructure.
  • Interface directly with clients and contractors and manage all aspects of project delivery utilizing Arcadis resources.
  • Assist in field construction and inspections.
  • Travel up to 25%.
Qualifications – Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with willingness to obtain reciprocity in Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR‑55, PondPack, HEC‑RAS).
  • Familiarity with government, client, and industry local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Prior experience supporting mining, utilities, rail, or pipeline protection projects and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Prior experience in land development such as site layout, stormwater management, grading, and erosion and sedimentation controls.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
  • Understanding of land development, erosion and sediment controls, road design (particularly haul roads and Forest Service roads), river restoration, and stormwater permitting.
