Project Engineer - Infrastructure & VMware (Remote + Travel)

Compensation: $64/hr
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (6 months)

This is a project execution role, not operations or desktop support. You’ll own infrastructure initiatives end‑to‑end – from architecture and build to implementation and handoff. Remote role with nationwide travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Windows Server environments from scratch
• Rack, stack, and configure servers (hardware, OS, networking)
• Deliver VMware implementations, data center builds, and storage projects
• Execute multi‑site infrastructure deployments
• Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment
• Travel to U.S. practice locations (~25% average, fully reimbursed)

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years Windows Server engineering experience
• Strong VMware project experience (beyond labs)
• Proven background in infrastructure project execution
• Ability to work independently across multiple projects

Nice to Have

• Citrix experience
• Networking (firewalls, VLANs, switching)
• MSP or consulting background
