Job description

The Project Associate position is based in the BRIDGE San Diego office and supports both new construction and rehabilitation projects throughout Southern California. The Project Associate provides day-to-day administrative and project coordination assistance to the Real Estate Development team. The position is hybrid, requiring at least three assigned days per week on-site in the San Diego office during normal business hours.

This is an entry level position that offers an excellent opportunity for a strong self-motivated candidate to learn and progress towards a career in affordable housing development.

Responsibilities

• Provide project support to Senior Vice President of Development, Director of Development and Development Project Managers across a range of tasks
• Assist with financial, legal, insurance, due diligence, and construction-related work tied to the development lifecycle, including transactions, loan closings, funding submissions, draw reviews, entitlements, and coordination of construction documents
• Help prepare feasibility studies and conduct research on real estate data
• Assist with preparing, formatting and assembling responses to RFPs/RFQs for new projects and funding applications
• Support with preparing final contracts, invoice processing, and change-order tracking
• Facilitate communication and workflow between departments and team members
• Coordinate meeting logistics, events, and schedules
• Maintain organized filing systems and project documentation
• Support team in community and neighborhood meetings, and other project related events
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the development team in the San Diego office

Requirements

• Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and juggle multiple deadlines on fast moving projects
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Self-starter who takes initiative and exhibits good judgment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Must have a valid California driver’s license
• Can travel independently as needed to project sites and other offsite meetings
• Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Experience

• 1-2 years in affordable housing, community development, urban planning, architecture, finance, or real estate development
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal housing finance programs
• Experience preparing presentation materials with a variety of software tools
• Strong analytical skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to move, lift, or carry items up to 25 lbs without assistance
• Ability to work in an open, semi-private work station
