ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be a high-level specialist serving as a Project Architect, responsible for leading the technical development and content creation for a healthcare facility over 2.0 million square feet at Mayo Clinic’s Rochester, MN campus. This role involves coordinating with all disciplines to ensure integrated deliverables and verifying compliance through team collaboration.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage the critical path process, guiding the project team through all technical and production stages from pre-design to project completion.
- Engage with the Office or Project Quality Leader for support and quality assurance throughout the project.
- Develop and integrate all technical aspects of the work, translating them into our service instruments.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to establish realistic work and labor plans, schedules, and ensure financial and contractual objectives are met.
- Participate in and contribute to the Project Risk Assessment process, proactively addressing issues.
- Assist Project Architects in developing Project Quality Plans and managing project quality through milestone reviews and technical charettes.
- Oversee the development and execution of documentation strategies for each project phase.
- Work with the Design Lead to align design goals with client expectations, budget, and schedule.
- Translate design intent into technical documentation through construction phases.
- Integrate building performance and sustainable design goals into the project.
- Monitor documentation and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support code analysis and compliance processes for life safety, building, and energy codes.
- Coordinate discipline integration with architectural design intent.
- Collaborate with the Model Manager to ensure quality in model processes and content.
- Align contract documentation with the Project Specification Writer, verifying content and coordination.
- Manage construction administration responsibilities, including RFIs and submittals.
- Guide and supervise project team members, focusing on technical quality and standards.
- Meet utilization targets and support office quality initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including 5 years in construction documentation on institutional or commercial projects and 3 years in construction administration.
- Experience with large, complex projects.
- Architectural Registration in the U.S. is required; CDT and LEED accreditation are preferred.
- Strong focus on quality, knowledge of building codes, and business acumen.
- Leadership skills in client relations and technical team management.
- Ability to mentor less experienced staff and possess advanced technical knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills; familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
- Professional business attire is required for client meetings; travel is expected.
