IA Interior Architects seeks a seasoned Project Architect for our Philadelphia studio. The role focuses on design development, contract documents, and project administration under supervision of a Senior Job Captain or Architect/Project Manager.

The candidate will lead construction documentation, coordinate with engineers, manage budgets, and mentor junior staff while engaging clients to determine technical requirements for design solutions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Architecture license required.
• 8+ years’ work experience on corporate interior design projects.

Responsabilités

• Creates construction documents (CDs) and reviews CDs for compliance with firm standards and codes.
• Manages project through contract administration phase.
• Coordinates with engineering consultants and design staff to provide technical solutions.
• May assist with field surveys in unusual circumstances.
• Manages contract administration budget and reports variances to stakeholders.
• Mentors junior/intermediate designers and oversees their work.
• Conducts client interviews to determine technical design requirements.

We are presently searching for a Project Architect for our Philadelphia studio. The Project Architect, while working under general supervision of a Senior Job Captain and/or Architect or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, design development and contract documents.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Creates construction documents (CDs).Review CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, codes and ADA requirements. For smaller projects may oversee all CD production and review. Coordinates with senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas.
• Manages project through contract administration phase.
• Coordinates engineering consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents.
• In unusual circumstances may be required to assist with support for field surveys.
• Manages contract administration budget for assigned projects. Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Senior Job Captain, Senior Project Architect, Project Manager and / or client of any potential variances to the budget.
• May mentor the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers. Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product.
• Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of architecture or design school. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Architecture license required.
• 8+ years’ work experience on corporate interior design projects.
