Job description

PROJECT ARCHITECT

Outstanding design thinking, visualization, and detailing expertise for an award-winning architecture firm

· This is a full-time position based in our New York City office.

· Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

· Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.

Create Architecture That Matters.

Are you passionate about architecture as both an art and a discipline? Do you enjoy transforming complex challenges into elegant solutions? Are you energized by rigorous thinking, exceptional design, and meticulous execution?

If you are driven to produce architecture that is as intelligent as it is beautiful, we invite you to join our team.

At Siegel, architects do far more than produce drawings. We ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, and create buildings that improve how people learn, work, gather, and live.

About Siegel

Siegel, formerly Robert Siegel Architects, improves the built world one building at a time. From our studios in New York City and Katonah, New York, we design higher-education, civic, cultural, commercial, residential, and public-sector projects throughout the United States and abroad.

We design architecture that enriches the human spirit and improves daily life. We study how people move, work, gather, and experience a place, then translate those specific observations into architecture that is easy to use and beautiful to look at.

We seek clients with a clear mission. We unite functional clarity, high performance, technical innovation, and craftsmanship. We integrate planning, structure, building systems, and materials to make buildings intuitive, comfortable, durable, energy-efficient, and adaptable. We lead project teams toward sustainable solutions that meet budget and schedule requirements. Through critical thinking and close collaboration, we create architecture that reflects its time and feels as though it has always been there.

Responsibilities

You will collaborate with experienced architects and designers on projects ranging from $500,000 to more than $50 million in construction value.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to new construction and renovation projects across higher education, public, cultural, commercial, and luxury residential markets.

  • Develop compelling architectural concepts and carry them through thoughtful technical resolution.

  • Produce clear, accurate drawings, visualizations, and presentation materials in two and three dimensions.

  • Design bespoke architectural details that celebrate craftsmanship and technical intelligence.

  • Collaborate closely with project teams, consultants, and clients throughout every phase of design and project delivery.

  • Participate in design reviews, technical coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Take increasing ownership of project responsibilities while helping elevate the quality of the firm’s work.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to design excellence.

  • The ability to thrive in a highly collaborative studio environment.

  • Exceptional graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated strength in architectural detailing and technical problem solving.

  • A minimum of five years of professional architectural experience in the United States.

  • Advanced proficiency in Rhino and Revit, including sophisticated 3D modeling and visualization.

  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) and/or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) from an accredited school of architecture in the United States.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
