Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking multiple Project Architects to join our Buildings practice in Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA. The role focuses on leading design and technical development, coordinating across disciplines, and delivering construction documents for institutional, transportation, civic, and higher education projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Licensure in California required
  • Demonstrated strength of technical knowledge & design sensibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 3D modeling & BIM documentation tools (Revit/Rhino).
  • Demonstrated experience developing CD Sets, including detailing ability and coordination of consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of one or more projects.
  • Develop design to ensure projects meet functional program, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.
  • Manage project(s) through interaction with Consultants, Engineers, and additional personnel to ensure timely completion.
  • Develop design layouts and frameworks for projects, including drawings and specifications, while providing insight and support throughout all stages.
  • Lead project scheduling, defining scope, budgeting, staffing, and construction administration, while managing change orders effectively.
  • Apply expert knowledge of architectural concepts, codes, and procedures; prepare studies, reports, and technical drawings; and present findings to clients.
  • Lead and supervise internal team of design professionals through design process.
  • Understand, develop, and follow structured work plans to ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and design intent.
  • Support management of design progress including coordination with clients, consultants and with internal team.
  • Write clear and concise project narratives, material specifications, and other technical documents essential for project coordination and client presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparts, contractors, and consultants to develop new business opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to firm-wide QA/QC processes and compliance with codes and standards.
  • Conduct research on design, building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements to support informed decision‑making and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Participate in site visits to assess conditions and gather information for design accuracy.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to junior staff and interns and assisting with task completion on multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Participate in business development from building industry and client relationships to assisting in scope and schedule definitions.

Job description

STV is currently looking for multiple Project Architects to join our Buildings practice in Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA. The Project Architect will lead the design and technical development, coordination, and delivery of various architectural projects serving institutional, transportation, civic, higher education, healthcare, justice, including public and private sector clients. Working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, this role is responsible for directing design and technical coordination across all disciplines and overseeing the production of coordinated design and construction documents. The ideal candidate is a licensed architectural professional with relevant design experience, strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience guiding project teams through all phases of project development, from conceptual design through construction administration.

Responsibilities

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Licensure in California required
  • Demonstrated strength of technical knowledge & design sensibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 3D modeling & BIM documentation tools (Revit/Rhino), industry-typical software such as Enscape, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience developing CD Sets, including detailing ability and coordination of consultants.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in the culture of the studio.

Compensation Range: $114,345.69 - $130,680.78
