Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Project Architect to join our architectural team on multiple projects from programming through construction documents. Coordinate with in-house engineers and outside consultants, develop architectural specifications, and lead construction administration while mentoring junior staff.

A Master or B.Arch is required with 5+ years of experience; Revit proficiency is essential and licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • Experience developing projects using Revit.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design team during programming and conceptual phases.
  • Prepare design development and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with in-house engineers and outside consultants.
  • Develop architectural technical specifications.
  • Lead construction administration including observation, RFIs and submittals.
  • Mentor entry-level architectural staff and update technical standards.

Project Architect

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working with our Architectural team, you will collaborate with a variety of multidisciplinary professionals on several different projects.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.
  • Prepare design development and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with in-house engineers and outside consultants.
  • Develop architectural technical specifications.
  • Lead construction administration effort including observation, RFI and submittal review.
  • Assist with departmental duties such as updating technical standards and mentoring of entry level architectural staff.
What We're Looking For
  • Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferred.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • Experienced in developing projects using Revit.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under demanding deadline situations.
