Job Summary

Hybris onsite downtown Denver Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The Project Architect II will be assigned to multiple projects and report to a Group Architect for guidance. Primary responsibility is architecture governance, ensuring alignment with standards. The role involves evaluating and implementing vendor technologies, not building software from scratch. Responsibilities include participating in RFP evaluations and vendor demos, selecting and integrating vendor solutions, performing reliability and performance testing, and creating non‑functional requirements (e.g., scalability for 3,000+ users).

Typical Day
  • Collaborate with system integrators and technology teams.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and ensure compatibility with Xcel’s environment.
  • Conduct scenario‑based assessments and architecture reviews.
  • Communicate with project managers, program managers, and business stakeholders.

Team: Will work under a Group Architect. Collaborate with other architects and project teams.

Must Have Skills
  • Experience as a Solution, Project, Group, or Enterprise Architect
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, DoDAF)
  • 3–5 years of architecture experience
  • Background as a developer transitioning into architecture
  • Experience with task management tools like Jira (not mandatory)
  • Solution Implementation, Architecture Governance, Architecture Strategy
  • Solid experience in GIS platforms (Smallworld, ESRI)
Nice to Have Skills
  • Background in the utility or energy sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong communication is critical—must effectively engage with PMs, business stakeholders, and technical teams. Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
