Job description

Overview

Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Project Analyst. This role will support key project management leaders in the dynamic energy sector. If you bring experience in engineering projects, analytics and cost controls, we'd love to hear from you. Our position offers flexibility with opportunities in:

  • Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
  • Birmingham, AL

We encourage you to explore this exciting opportunity and become part of our innovative and impactful team.

Responsibilities

Step into a key role where precision meets impact. As a Project Analyst, you’ll help support project success by compiling accurate cost data and tracking financial health to support compliance with budgets and contracts. Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, you’ll support everything from project setup to key performance indicators (KPI) and sales tracking — playing a vital role in keeping complex project financials aligned with ENERCON and client expectations. This is your opportunity to turn data into direction and contribute meaningfully to high-performance project delivery.

Typical duties include:

  • ERP & Systems Management: Review and understand contract language, cost estimates, and proposals to initiate projects in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including initial project setup, task setup, billing setup, billing rates, etc., in compliance with client and ENERCON policies and procedures; input project baseline budgets and resource allocations to authorized contract funding; prepare applicable reports, and reconcile financial data with other records on file, while identifying inconsistencies, deviations from policies, and errors to assist in performance of appropriate corrective actions
  • Cost Tracking & Financial Analysis: Translate proposal cost estimates to set up project budgets. Monitor project status and financial health using KPIs, such as revenue and contribution margin, to aid the Project Manager in managing projects to meet schedule and budget. Reconcile actual charges to budgets to ensure revenue and financial posting accuracy. Run reports, analyze data, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to Project Managers. Prepare reports with critical deadlines, including client reports, internal trend reports, and project schedule compliance reports
  • Project Planning & Resourcing: Assist with executing and finalizing project resource plans in the ERP; load projects using actual resources and elevate potential impacts to budget to Project Managers
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Enter and track sales opportunities in a CRM application to support accurate revenue forecasting by client and service type; validate sales financials by frequent communication with Project Managers
  • Billing & Invoicing: Conduct bi-monthly prebill reviews to ensure accuracy in all labor and expense charges; identify and resolve discrepancies. Perform invoice reviews to ensure accurate billing prior to client submittal; elevate impacts and seek resolution with the Project Manager and Accounting
  • Contracts & Documentation: Support processing of contracts/amendments/ purchase orders. Cross-reference contracts with purchase orders to ensure compliance with procedures and policies for vendors/subcontractors. Monitor project and purchase order dates and accruals. Examine a variety of reporting documents and summaries to verify accuracy and conformance with specific functional, corporate, contract, government, or client requirements
  • Collaboration & Training: Foster and maintain working relations with Project Managers and other essential stakeholders (i.e., Accounting, Project Controls, Manager of Projects, Division Directors, Manager of Project Analysts, Engineering and Technical staff). Coordinate quality assurance project training and client required training
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related industry
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in business or project analytics, project controls, or a support role in a technical or engineering consulting environment
  • Demonstrated business/financial aptitude
  • Ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, very detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, judgment and always be professional due to the confidential nature of the project work
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions and follow tasks to completion with minimal direction
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel (including tables/charts/formulas) and Word (including formatting)
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to work and communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites
