Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, you will provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

You will assess patient status at admission and each shift, document care promptly, administer medications, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical procedures

Qualifications

• RN license required with ability to obtain ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale within specified timeframes.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; progressive care or cardiac/med-surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in progressive care.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care in collaboration with providers.
• Advocate for patients to support an exceptional patient experience.
• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift, noting changes.
• Document care in the medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
