Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Program Manager to lead internal programs from initiation to completion in a dynamic environment. You will coordinate resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, and troubleshooting, while managing indirect people and aligning with corporate goals.

You will monitor performance, adjust schedules or resources, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations, delivering reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and 2–4 years' experience OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program.
  • Implements and administers one or more corporate programs.
  • Executes programs meeting the needs of the org or customers.
  • Participates in planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Promotes the program and tracks utilization.
  • Supervises program staff to meet standards and timelines.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness with data on KPIs.
  • Ensures activities comply with policies and external regs.
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management.

Job Summary

Plans, monitors and manages internal programs from initiation through completion | Leads or coordinates programs, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, troubleshooting and indirect people management | Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions | Responsibilities are within the Project Management Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Essential Functions
  • Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program.
  • Implements and administers one or more corporate programs, typically consisting of multiple programs or sub-programs.
  • Executes programs that meet the needs of the organization or its employees or customers.
  • Participates in all aspects of corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks utilization.
  • Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work in completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations.
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Business degree preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Project management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.

Pay Range (USD)

$92,000 - $125,000
