Job summary

Goddard House in Brookline, MA is seeking a part-time Programming (Activities) Assistant to support the Program Director in creating, scheduling and implementing meaningful activities for residents. This role emphasizes compassionate, organized team support and community engagement on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily therapeutic programming, arranging entertainment, outings and family sessions, and helping with newsletters and social media.

Qualifications

• Experience with elderly or Alzheimer's populations preferred.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field.
• Strong communication and reliability required.

Responsibilities

• Form meaningful relationships with residents and families.
• Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily therapeutic programming schedule for 7 days per week.
• Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors.
• Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site.
• Assist with support group and educational sessions for families and staff.
• Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media.

Rates start at $20 per hour

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Requirements

• Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field, preferred. One+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations, preferred.
• Physical requirements : Standing, sitting, bending
• Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
• Punctuality & reliability – Our residents rely on us to assist them with their daily living activities and we expect our associates to deliver on this promise.
