Job summary

Care New England’s Butler Hospital is seeking a Program Therapist for the Young Adult Intensive Outpatient Program. The role focuses on group therapy for 18–26-year-olds, with a curriculum drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT, and Schema Therapy to foster resilience and progress.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with evenings 11:30 am–7:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Additional opportunities to work in other programs may arise to reach full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Licensed clinician in RI (LICSW/LMHC/LMFT) preferred.
• Experience with young adults in outpatient or intensive programs.
• Part-time availability with evening schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct two group therapy sessions per program evening (three evenings per week).
• Perform initial psychiatric evaluations for new patient admissions.
• Provide weekly therapy check-ins for a caseload of patients in the program.

Job Summary

Butler Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Program Therapist to join the Young Adult Intensive Outpatient Program Team. The Young Adult IOP treats young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 who are struggling with their mental health and need the additional support of group therapy to stabilize and improve functioning. Program curriculum draws upon aspects of CBT, ACT, DBT, and Schema Therapy, with a strong focus on resiliency and ownership of one's own progress. Primary presenting concerns of young adults who seek our care are depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adult transition adjustment, etc.

The position is part time, 20 hours a week, and offers great medical, dental and other outstanding benefits. The schedule is M, T, TH each week from 11:30 - 7:00 pm. Although the position calls for 20 hours part time, there are plenty of consistent opportunities to pick up additional hours of work in our partial hospital programs up to full time hours if desired.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a program therapist, the employee would be responsible for conducting two group therapy sessions per program evening (3 evenings a week), conducting initial psychiatric evaluations for new patient admissions, and providing weekly therapy check in sessions for a caseload of patients enrolled in the program. Groups are both didactic and process in nature and follow a curriculum for which training is provided.
