Job description

Butler Hospital is seeking a talented and energized program therapist to treat patients in our Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program. The OCD IOP is a highly specialized program for patients diagnosed with OCD, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, or Specific Phobias, who are ready to participate in intensive exposure therapy as part of their treatment. The progress patients make during their time with us has led this program to be highly sought after and respected. Patients are ages 18+ and of any gender. ERP is provided through both group and individual sessions over a 6-8 week course of treatment.

Duties include initial psychiatric evaluations, group therapy, and 1:1 therapy sessions alongside an incredible team of Psychiatrists and Psychologists. The program operates Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

The position offers paid time off, medical, dental, and other benefits. Incentive pay beyond the expectations of the role is available but not mandatory.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Master’s Degree in a related field required.
  2. Licensure: Independent Therapy License required (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  3. Training and Experience: Experience in a psychiatric setting is required, with specific training and experience related to the population served; experience in ERP is required. Experience in providing both group and individual therapy is necessary.
  4. Special Qualifications: Interest and commitment to the programs at Butler Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University.
  5. Mental Demands: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with a multidisciplinary staff, and treat an acute patient population.
