Job summary

Lake Behavioral Hospital in Waukegan, IL seeks a Program Therapist to address bio-psychosocial needs and guide patients toward emotional health. You will provide counseling (individual/couples/family), crisis intervention, and collaborate with community agencies to support assessments and services.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Social Work or related field, 2+ years in psychiatric care with family/group therapies, and IL licensure (or license within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical-related mental health field preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; and clinical solid assessment skills preferred.
• Illinois State license in social work or clinical-related mental health field or receive a license within 6 months of employment; CADC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual/couples/family counseling with a focus on engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with community agencies for patient assessment and services.
• Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions and patient responses.
• Assess the psychosocial, educational, and behavioral functioning of patients and document updates.
• Utilize age-specific considerations in treatment planning.
• Respond promptly to social work service requests.
• Contribute to the effective functioning of the patient's program and meet social work needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
• Ensure specific, measurable goals and interventions are defined.
• Adhere to specific standards for the care of diverse patient populations.
• Utilize appropriate interventions in psychiatric emergencies.
