Job summary

Yachad, a division of The Orthodox Union, is seeking a part-time staff member to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during program activities. You will help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment and assist with group activities.

Availability is 10–15 hours weekly, with 2–3 weekday evenings (Mon–Thu 4:30–7:30 PM) and two Sundays per month (2:00–4:00 PM or 5:00–7:00 PM). Salary is $25 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Working with individuals to facilitate engagement during programs
• Implementing group activities for participants

• Ensures the safety of participants during programs
• Encourages participants to be independent in their daily tasks

Yachad helps these individuals participate more fully in Jewish life and the broader society by providing educational, employment, and relationship opportunities.

The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

Position Summary:

This part‑time role provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities during program activities, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment.
