Job summary

The Chimes, Inc. in New Hampshire is seeking a qualified supervisor to lead a team supporting individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges. The role includes coaching, training, discipline, and performance evaluations, with oversight of staff attendance and crisis intervention as needed.

This full-time, Monday–Friday position offers a $65,000 annual salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth within a not-for-profit mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have a car and an acceptable driving record as determined by the agency’s insurance carrier and policy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains, coaches, disciplines, and evaluates staff and persons served.
• Provides feedback with the Assistant Director, when appropriate.
• Verifies staff attendance and ensures active support for all people served.
• Ensures adequate staffing and arranges temporary staff as needed.
• Documents incidents and uses crisis intervention as needed.
• Develops staff through orientation and ongoing training; works to reduce turnover.
• Conducts visits/inspections to ensure contractual specifications are met.
• Ensures compliance with DOL regulations relating to persons served.
• Serves as a positive role model for staff.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION(S):

Provides supervision, training, coaching, discipline, and performance evaluation to an assigned group of staff and persons served. Provides feedback and discipline, along with the Assistant Director, when appropriate.

• Verifies the staff attendance and ensures the staff is providing active support for all people assigned.
• Ensures there is adequate staff in attendance at the program and obtains temporary staff or alternate staffing options when needed
• Assesses the need for adaptive equipment to enhance people's productivity/activity level and makes appropriate referrals and suggestions to the appropriate manager.
• Confirms that adequate materials are in place at the start of each shift and throughout the program time
• Documents incidents as needed
• Uses crisis intervention skills in emergencies when needed
• Responsible for staff development, including program orientation, completion of training, and ongoing learning of direct support staff.
• Works with the Assistant Director and implements strategies to reduce turnover
• Conducts visits and/or inspections of assigned areas to ensure all contractual specifications are being met
• Familiar with all DOL regulations as relating to persons served and ensures they are all being met
• Serves as a positive role model for other employees in the program

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

An Associate Degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related area is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities is a plus.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have a car and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the agency's insurance carrier and policy.

NOTE:

At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience.
