About the Position

The Central Registry Unit is responsible for conducting Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Background Checks on individuals who may be entrusted with the protection, supervision, or care of children in the State of Mississippi. This includes, but is not limited to, new MDCPS employees, relative resource homes, resource homes, adoptive homes, Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) placements, and other individuals required by law, policy, or agency procedure to undergo a Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check.The Central Registry Unit Supervisor is responsible for the administrative and operational oversight of the Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Unit within the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS).The position provides direct supervision and operational oversight to ensure that Central Registry requests are received, assigned, researched, processed, reviewed, documented, and returned accurately and within established timeframes. The position is responsible for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and reliability of Central Registry information while ensuring compliance with applicable federal requirements, Mississippi law, MDCPS policies and procedures, and established unit practices.The position serves as a subject-matter resource for Central Registry operations and guides staff and authorized internal and external stakeholders regarding Central Registry requirements and processes
