We are hoping you will join us as a Program Specialist (Bilingual) and help shape the future of healthcare where you'll be an integral part of our Community Health team, helping to strive for excellence while we serve our member health with dignity, respecting the value and needs of each of our members through collaboration with our providers, community partners and local stakeholders. This position has been approved to be Partial Telework.

If telework is approved, you are required to work within the State of California only and if Partial Telework, also come in to the Main Office in Orange, CA, at least two (2) days per week minimum.

The Program Specialist for Community Health will support the coordination and implementation of Community Health programs, projects and initiatives that advance organizational goals and improve member health outcomes. You'll assist with activities that help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC). Additionally, you'll coordinate program activities, maintain project documentation, tracks deliverables and supports reporting requirements. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will collaborate with internal departments, community-based organizations and other stakeholders to support program implementation, member engagement activities and community outreach efforts. You'll engage with members to gather insights, assess members' experiences and inform improvements to the Community Health program. Finally, you'll also support other CalOptima Health staff on related projects. You'll need to maintain a flexible schedule to participate in evening and weekend events when scheduled.Together, we are building a stronger, more equitable health system.

Your Contributions To the Team:

• Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
• Coordinates program activities, timelines and deliverables requirements to ensure programs meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Assists with the development and implementation of member engagement and community outreach strategies to support department initiatives.
• Assists with departmental programs and process improvement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of community health initiatives.
• Serves as a liaison between departments to support equitable communication workflows and continuous improvement of member communication initiatives.
• Updates and maintains department databases and status reports.
• Prepares routine and ad hoc reports, dashboards and summaries for program and departmental needs for program monitoring and evaluation purposes.
• Assists with developing, documenting and updating desktop procedures for departmental processes and workflows.
• Assists with administrative duties to support program and department operations.

Do You Have What the Role Requires?

• Bachelor's degree in public health, health care, health administration or related field PLUS 1 year of program coordination experience required, preferably in a managed care setting; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above may also be qualifying.
• Bilingual in English and in one of CalOptima Health's defined threshold languages (Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese) required.
