Job summary

Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist to assist resident-neighbors in understanding and progressing through our programs on our vibrant Mid-Hudson Valley campus.

The role requires strong communication, warmth, and the ability to motivate participation in activities while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to tailor treatment plans. Full-time position with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • AA degree or health care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist resident-neighbors to understand, engage, and progress through the program by motivating, prompting, and training skills such as memory compensation, schedule-keeping, way finding, emotional self-regulation, social interaction, and self-advocacy
  • Motivate and encourage resident-neighbors to participate in activities and programs
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with resident-neighbors, family members, and staff
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans

Education

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Specialist to join our team at the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury. As a Program Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting our resident-neighbors to understand, engage, and progress through our programs. We offer a unique work environment that is vibrant, uplifting, and full of hope. Our 39-acre campus in Mid-Hudson Valley features shops, a library, music studio, post office, cafe, clubhouse, lounge, art studio, hair salon, gym, and a park with a walking/jogging path.

Responsibilities
  • Assist resident-neighbors to understand, engage, and progress through the program by motivating, prompting, and training skills such as memory compensation, schedule-keeping, way finding, emotional self-regulation, social interaction, and self-advocacy
  • Motivate and encourage resident-neighbors to participate in activities and programs
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with resident-neighbors, family members, and staff
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Requirements
  • AA degree or experience in a health care environment preferred; HS diploma/GED required
  • Energetic, even-tempered, and good communicator with the ability to speak plainly and project personal warmth
  • Enjoy helping others help themselves and have personal interests and hobbies outside of work
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism, think independently, keep promises, and adhere to policies
