Job summary

Passavant Memorial Homes in Mount Pleasant seeks a Program Specialist to oversee safety and well-being in residential settings and coordinate IP-based activities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role reports to the Program Operations Director.

Requires supervisory experience, a valid driver’s license, and familiarity with 6400 regulations. Multiple education paths lead to qualification. Strong leadership and budget oversight are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience with 6400 regulations required.
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with one year experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities OR Bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience OR Associate’s degree with four years’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and supervise activities for individuals in accordance with each IP, including community integration opportunities.
  • Coordinate and oversee responsibilities of Direct Support Professionals.
  • Complete attendance and payroll records for Direct Support Professionals.
  • Hold regular meetings with Direct Support Professionals to review program needs and training.
  • Ensure budgetary compliance and fiscal accountability for residential programs.
  • Ensure program adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Provide IP assessment, annual IP update, and IP revisions per CH. 6400.181(a).
  • Participate in IP processes, development, reviews, and implementation per 6400 regulations.

We are currently looking for a Program Specialist to fill a full-time position in the Mount Pleasant area. The Program Specialist will be responsible for management and oversight of the safety and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health, and behavioral health needs in a residential setting and coordinating activities and community integration in accordance with each individual’s Individual Plan (IP).This position will report directly to the Program Operations Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROGRAM SPECIALIST:
  • Provide and supervise activities for the individuals in accordance with their specific IP, including opportunities for community integration.
  • Coordinateand provide oversight for the responsibilities of Direct Support Professionals.
  • Complete attendance and payroll records for Direct Support Professionals.
  • Hold regular meetingswith Direct Support Professionals to review program needs/progress and providenecessary training.
  • Assure budgetary compliance and fiscal accountability for all residential programs.
  • Ensure program adherence to establishedpolicies and procedures.
  • Provide the assessment for the development of the IP, the IP Annual update, and the IP revisions as required under CH. 6400.181(a).
  • Participate in the IP process, development, team reviews, and implementation in accordance with the 6400 regulations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities by the Program Operations Director.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROGRAM SPECIALIST:
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience with 6400 regulations required
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university and one (1) year experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years’ experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities

OR

  • Associate’s degree, or 60 credit hours, from an accredited college or university and four (4) years’ experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities

*Prospective employeehired for the Program Specialist position will receive a $5,000sign‑on bonus. New employee will receive $2,500 after completion of orientation, $1,250 after completion of 6 months of employment and $1,250 after completion of 12 months of employment. Employee must stay in full-time position to receive the whole bonus amount. Sign‑on bonus is eligible for prospective employees hired from January 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026.
