Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County is seeking a Summer Youth Development Professional to plan, implement, and supervise activities for ages 6–18 in multiple program areas. You will foster academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character while keeping sessions fun, safe, and engaging.

The role involves leading groups of 5–20 youth, organizing activities, and ensuring learning and enjoyment. Must pass a background check and drug test; prior youth experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with children is essential.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality youth programs.
  • Ability to supervise and organize groups in a safe environment.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles helpful.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required.

Program Specialist

We are looking for fun, energetic, and hard-working individuals who love working with youth! This summer position is perfect for anyone who wants to make a positive impact, gain experience in youth development, and have fun while doing it.

Staff will lead youth in a variety of program areas, including Sports & Recreation, Arts, Education, and Service & Leadership, helping children learn, play, and grow.

This is a great summer job for college students or anyone looking for a meaningful, engaging, and active summer experience. Our staff and kids have a blast every day!

School Year

Monday 7:30 - 5:30 ( 8 Hour shift )

Tuesday - Friday 2:30 - 6:00

Primary Function

The Summer Youth Development Professional plans, implements, and supervises activities for youth (ages 6–18) in multiple program areas. This role supports our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character & Citizenship while fostering fun, safe, and engaging experiences for all members.

Staff will lead groups of 5–20 members at a time, help organize activities, and ensure youth are learning, engaged, and having fun.

Additional Roles Include

Program Facilitator: Creating and leading engaging and educational activities for club members.

Mentor: Building supportive and positive relationships with youth, serving as a role model and providing guidance.

Community Liaison: Developing partnerships with local organizations and businesses to enhance resources and opportunities for club members.

Youth Advocate: Empowering young people to become active and responsible citizens through advocacy and leadership development programs.

Behavior Manager: Implementing behavior management strategies to create a safe and respectful club environment.

Program Coordinator: Planning and organizing various programs and activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of club members.

Supportive Counselor: Providing emotional support and guidance to youth facing personal challenges and crises.

Educational Supporter: Assisting club members with homework, tutoring, and educational enrichment activities to support their academic success.

Skills/Knowledge Required
  • High School diploma or GED & currently working to complete a two- or four-year degree
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

  • Valid State Driver’s License
Requirements

Candidates must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check & Drug Test

Training
  • Boys & Girls Club Basics & Safety 101 to be completed the first week of hire
  • 30 Day - Complete the Milestone 1 trainings
  • 60 Day - Complete Milestone 2 trainings
  • Attend Monthly trainings for positive youth development
Job Status

Seasonal – 30–40 hours/week

May 18th – August 1st

Schedule Options

Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay Range

Starting at $15.25–$16.25 per hour, depending on experience
