Hendrick Home for Children (the Home), located in Abilene, Texas, exists to provide quality, trauma-informed 24-hour residential care for three vulnerable populations: Single parents and their children, children that cannot live with their parents, and at-risk young adults preparing for independent living. In a therapeutic environment based and centered on Christian principles, all residents are supported and taught the importance of spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual care and growth. Children and families living on campus receive programming uniquely created and facilitated by licensed therapists, including equine, recreational, and counseling services and financial support. All residents on the Home’s campus live and receive services free of charge. Though the Home primarily serves children and families in Taylor County, Texas, and the surrounding areas, it accepts applications and considers placement for children and families that meet program requirements from all over the United States.
