Job summary

Canvas is seeking a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to support program security in accordance with DoD, Air Force, contractual, and company requirements. The CPSO will coordinate security with government and corporate staff and manage security documentation.

The ideal candidate will hold a U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance and have experience in DoD security policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting industrial, program, physical, or information security in DoD or federal environments.
  • Working knowledge of DoD security policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Ability to interpret security regulations, contract requirements, and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program security support per DoD, Air Force, contractual, and company requirements.
  • Serve as CPSO or equivalent security representative for assigned activities.
  • Coordinate security with government security reps, program staff, subcontractors, and corporate security.
  • Assist with personnel security actions: eligibility checks, access requirements, indoctrinations, debriefings, and documentation.
  • Maintain security records, files, databases, and accountability documentation.
  • Develop and maintain security procedures, plans, and SOPs.
  • Conduct security briefings and provide guidance to personnel.
  • Support government and internal security reviews, inspections, and assessments.
  • Identify, document, and report potential security incidents or violations.

  • Serve as the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), or equivalent program security representative, for assigned activities.
  • Coordinate security requirements with government security representatives, program personnel, subcontractors, and corporate security staff.
  • Support personnel security actions, including verification of eligibility, access requirements, visit requests, indoctrinations, debriefings, and associated security documentation.
  • Maintain applicable security records, files, databases, and accountability documentation.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures, plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct security briefings and provide security-related guidance to assigned personnel.
  • Support preparation for government and internal security reviews, inspections, and assessments.
  • Assist with identification, documentation, and reporting of potential security incidents or violations in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review program activities and documentation to ensure appropriate safeguarding, marking, handling, storage, transmission, and disposition of protected information.
  • Coordinate physical and information security requirements for assigned work areas and activities.
  • Support visitor control and access management processes.
  • Provide security guidance to program managers, technical personnel, and other members of the workforce.
  • Monitor changes to applicable security requirements and assist leadership with implementing necessary updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling sensitive or protected information.
  • Perform other security-related duties as required to support contract requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Relevant professional experience supporting industrial, program, personnel, physical, or information security activities within a Department of Defense or other federal environment.
  • Working knowledge of DoD security policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Experience coordinating security actions involving government personnel, contractors, and multiple organizational stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and apply security regulations, contract requirements, and organizational procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple requirements and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and common business information systems.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while effectively collaborating with a geographically and organizationally diverse team.
Security Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance, at minimum, is required for this position. Candidates who do not currently possess the required security clearance will not be considered.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining applicable security eligibility and meeting all customer access requirements.
