Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD seeks a Program Security Representative to provide top-tier security support on Special Access Programs and SCIs. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of security experience, an active TS clearance (TS/SCI possible), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a security-related field or related discipline; two+ years of security experience may substitute for the degree.
• 4+ years of security-related work (CPSO/CSSO/SSR/PSR/PSS and/or DoD Intel) with ability to apply security regulations.
• 2+ years developing and executing security policy, plans and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to interact with staff at all levels.
• Willing to be on call outside standard hours to address security issues.
• Active Top Secret clearance with potential TS/SCI; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Primarily serve as the Program Security Representative on multiple Special Access Programs and/or Sensitive Compartmented Programs, providing expertise in all security functions in accordance with the NISPOM, and other government regulations.
• Interact with a broad cross-section of staff members within APL and with individuals external to APL.
• Represent the Lab while performing as a liaison between the APL, multiple government sponsors, and subcontractors.
• Provide security guidance regarding program development/operations, assure compliance with applicable government and company regulations, develop, obtain approval for, and implement security policies and procedures specific to the program to include SOPs.
• Ensure facility security administration, documentation and management to ensure adherence to contractual guidance for numerous programs and facilities.
• Advise leadership in the area of security where risks and tradeoffs have a direct impact on the accomplishment of the project, test or evaluation.
• Provide subject matter expertise to Program Managers concerning accurate interpretation, proper application and compliance with Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
• Identify and resolve security challenges and issues such as legal, regulatory and compliance concerns. Perform physical security responsibilities for several facilities.
