Job summary

Ursa Major seeks an experienced Program Scheduler to own one or more Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in MS Project and Planner Premium. You will baseline, track, and report on schedule health for senior leadership, coordinating with Program Managers and cross-functional teams.

Your work will include critical path analysis, risk assessment, and maintaining clear, visual performance metrics and dashboards for executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, PM or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing complex cross-functional program schedules in technical/defense environments.
• Advanced mastery of MS Project and/or Planner Premium with reporting skills.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualization for dashboards.
• Strong CPM, baseline control, float management and resource leveling understanding.
• Ability to build concise metrics and narratives for senior management.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to change control for baselining and contractual changes.

We are seeking an experienced Program Scheduler to serve as the single point of contact and primary owner of one or more Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Microsoft Project and/or Planner Premium. In this role, you will lead the creation, baseline management, dynamic tracking, and routine maintenance of our master program schedules. Beyond managing network logic and critical paths, you will own the delivery of schedule-focused standard reports, performance metrics, and variance analytics to ensure key stakeholders and executive leadership maintain clear visibility into program health.

Responsibilities:

• Build, baseline, and maintain complex, fully logic-linked (CPM) Integrated Master Schedules using Microsoft Project and Planner Premium.
• Establish and preserve clean schedule architecture, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), task dependencies, constraints, and total float/margin expectations.
• Coordinate regularly with Program Managers and cross-functional leads to gather progress updates, validate actuals, and update forecast completion dates.
• Evaluate logic changes, schedule health, critical path variations, and float erosion to flag potential risks or delays early.
• Own and continuously improve standard schedule reports (e.g., Executive Dashboards, Milestone Trend Analysis, Critical Path Reviews, and Look-Ahead Schedules).
• Generate and communicate key schedule performance metrics (e.g., Schedule Variance [SV], Schedule Performance Index [SPI], Milestones Achieved vs. Baseline, and Schedule Health Scorecards).
• Conduct Schedule Risk Analyses (SRA) and "what-if" scenario modeling to support program mitigation strategies.
• Maintain strict adherence to change control processes for re-baselining or contractual baseline changes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of dedicated experience managing complex, cross-functional project or program schedules in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or defense environment.
• Advanced mastery of Microsoft Project (MS Project Professional / MS Project Online/Server) and/or Planner Premium.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools for reporting and dashboards.
• Deep understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), baseline control, float management, task dependencies, and resource leveling.
• Proven ability to build concise, visual metrics, dashboards, and narrative explanations for senior management.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and Government Contracts.
• Certifications such as PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional), PMP, or EVMP.
• Leadership and team building skills to include fostering collaborative and positive cultures, formal and informal influencing skills, and team empowerment and motivation expertise.

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $82,160 - $102,700, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can’t quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.
