Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies in Culver City, CA is seeking a Program Quality Engineer for a 6-month hybrid role. You will establish quality systems and measurement methods to support new programs and analyze build results to ensure conformance with design specs.

You will lead cross-functional teams across time zones to resolve issues through data-driven FACA and monitor IQC, OQC, and ORT performance, sharing learnings across sites.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with GD&T, metrology, measurement equipment, and techniques.
• Experience with statistical techniques including SPC, AQLs, GR&R, Cpk.
• Ability to determine cosmetic defect levels and set specs with Product Design.
• Problem-solving using quality tools and root-cause analysis with strict deadlines.
• Experience with AI/ML tools to aid data analysis and workflow improvements.
• Familiarity with automated inspection systems.

Job Title: Program Quality Engineer

Location: Culver City, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months

Responsibilities

• Support new programs in development by establishing quality systems, measurement methods, and analyzing build results to ensure products meet the design specifications.
• Analyze build data in order to confirm process capability and identify areas that require attention from Product Design and Process Engineering.
• Lead a cross-functional team across time zones to resolve issues through data driven Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA).
• Establish new methods for monitoring and reporting status, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).
• Implement best practices and learnings across manufacturing sites and products.
• Succinctly communicate key updates to senior management and the executive team.

Target Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• High volume manufacturing experience with a detailed understanding of advanced product quality planning, production processes, testing, kitting, and packaging (e.g., consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, etc.).
• Proficiency in GD&T, metrology, and measurement equipment and techniques.
• Experience with statistical techniques including SPC, sampling AQLs, measurement system analysis (GR&R), process capability (Cpk).
• Ability to discern different degrees of cosmetic defects in order to establish cosmetic specifications with Product Design.
• Problem-solving skills utilizing quality tools and capable of identifying the root cause of challenging problems and implementing corrective actions with stringent deadlines.
• Strong proficiency in JMP and/or Minitab, including statistical analysis, SPC, regression, process capability, and visualization.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage and drive issues to closure.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems, Design of Experiments, Reliability Methods/Models.
• Experience with using AI/ML tools to assist in data analysis and building new tools to simplify workflows.
• Experience with automated inspection systems.
