At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists and accomplished experts in Program Planning & Controls (PP&C), you will develop and maintain program plans for various spaceflight systems. Partnered with Blue’s Program Managers and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), there are multiple facets to your support of our spaceflight systems. We are seeking a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the creation and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule, and the integration of subordinate schedules to develop a comprehensive data set.
  • Coordinate with technical leadership across Blue to drive resource loading of program plans, analyze and optimize the schedule to achieve required milestones.
  • Perform baseline change control to track performance and conduct effective critical path and variance analysis of dynamic programs.
  • Lead status reviews of the schedule, gather inputs from multiple stakeholders and data sources, and communicate progress, forecast updates, and schedule metrics to program leadership.
  • Perform “what-if” scenario planning and schedule risk assessments, communicating issues to leadership and providing mitigation recommendations.
  • Support maturation of the PP&C organization by analyzing scheduling procedures and introducing improvements and revised procedures, mentoring, and developing other program planners.
  • Drive organizational and cultural utilization of PP&C scheduling artifacts throughout the program team.
  • Partner with the Program Cost Analysts to maintain integrated cost and schedule plans that facilitate budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Report to the PP&C leader of New Glenn business units; help develop robust program plans and improve speed and efficiency of programs through transparent performance data and schedules.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in program scheduling/planning and controls
  • Experience with integrated master schedules with resource loading using Primavera (P6), MS Project, or other software
  • Experience and comfort with working in ambiguous environments and situations
  • Experience establishing new programs and performing complete overhauls/replans of existing programs
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Robust understanding of scheduling best practices and experience implementing and adapting best practices in a variety of business environments
  • Demonstrated success mentoring and developing lesser experienced planners and program teams
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, AI LLM)
  • Strong communication skills in technical work environments
Desired
  • Expert user of Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • Experience establishing new program schedules
  • Experience in aerospace research and development and manufacturing environments
  • Experience in integrating IMS with ERP
  • Customer Deliverables on EVM-required contracts
  • Successful support of programs through DCMA/DCAA, joint site surveillance, or other government audits
  • Proposal support including translation of estimates into IMSs upon award
  • Experience with AI Language Models and creating AI Agents
  • MBA, or Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager)
