Job summary

Kleinfelder’s Water/Wastewater Program Manager will join our Red River Area Public Works Team to support municipal water and/or wastewater engineering initiatives across Texas and Oklahoma. Sit in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston offices.

The role offers technical leadership, project management, and collaboration with engineers, scientists, and planners to deliver high-quality water-related services and grow client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in water and wastewater facilities engineering; 12+ years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulic design, and infrastructure.
  • Proficient in engineering design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD or similar.
  • Experience with project management including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Business development; client contacts and/or lead client engagements required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring quality standards and driving customer value.
  • Manage water and/or wastewater projects for new and long-term clients with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Grow client relationships and contracts involving complex planning, design, and construction projects.
  • Participate in scoping activities and proposal presentations with targeted clients.
  • Mentor the technical development of staff and grow the team.
  • Present at technical conferences and participate in technical committees.

This position will support our growing water market in Texas and Oklahoma. Candidates may choose to sit in our Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston Offices. Our Public Works Team includes over 20 engineers and scientists as well as a larger national community of practice. Candidates must have strong technical expertise, specifically in municipal water and/or wastewater systems engineering and be fully capable of providing technical leadership and direction to project teams. The selected candidate will work in our team-oriented environment, primarily providing municipal clients with professional engineering services for water and/or wastewater systems.


Opportunities


  • Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards, and driving customer value.

  • Successfully manage projects for water and/or wastewater clients both new and long-term, supported by talented project teams of engineers, scientists, and planners to deliver a full range of water-related engineering services.

  • Nurture and grow client relationships and contracts that include complex, multi-disciplinary projects in planning, design, and construction.

  • Participate in technical/project scoping activities and proposal presentations with targeted clients.

  • Mentor the technical development of staff and grow the team.

  • Manage projects, present at technical conferences, and engage in technical committees.
