Job summary

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) seeks a senior project/engineering manager for the Tunnel Redundancy Program in Chelsea, MA. You will lead planning, design, and construction activities for large, complex tunnel projects, overseeing schedules, budgets, and consultant teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, 7+ years in design/PM/CM, 3+ years supervisory experience, and MA PE or PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• At least seven (7) years of civil engineering design, project management and/or construction management.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience or equivalent.
• Massachusetts driver’s license; MA PE preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Position may be eligible for telework up to 50% after initial waiting period.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and design phases of Tunnel Redundancy Program projects, including plans, specifications, permitting, schedules, QA/QC, and progress reviews.
• Oversee construction management activities: pre-construction planning, bid support, project controls, and cost/schedule monitoring.
• Supervise multidisciplinary design/construction teams on large, complex projects.
• Prepare engineering documents, reports, and analyses; review consultants' work for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with MWRA divisions, communities, and agencies; manage consultant selection and contract negotiations.
