Job description

As the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D helps make everyday life with T1D better while driving toward cures. We invest in the most promising research to turn ideas into life-changing therapies and devices. We work with government, regulatory officials, and insurance companies to address issues that impact the T1D community -- breaking through barriers that limit access to care worldwide. We provide resources and guidance that makes it easier to live and thrive with T1D. This is more than a moment -- we're empowering a movement for the T1D community. Share your support and help educate and empower individuals facing type 1 diabetes.

Our mission is to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life changing breakthroughs to treat, prevent and ultimately, cure T1D and its complications. Always, we are guided by a single purpose: As we drive towards curing type 1 diabetes, we help make everyday life better for the people who face it.

At Breakthrough T1D, we count all steps within the end-to-end talent lifecycle as part of the employee experience; this includes but is not limited to candidate, new hire onboarding, internal mobility, ongoing engagement, and exiting the organization. Breakthrough T1D is looking for someone to design, develop, deploy, and maintain a new Employee Experience program. This role will work closely with the AVP of Talent Management. The focus of the role is building an employee experience program that helps Breakthrough T1D remain the employer of choice for those looking to improve lives by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.

This isn't primarily an employee-events role. Employee experience here is a program discipline. You'll help define what a better employee experience should look like, turn that direction into a multi-year plan, design the interventions and resources to support it, launch them across the organization, and measure whether they worked.

As an Employee Experience Program Manager at Breakthrough T1D, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and inclusive work environment for our employees. You’ll design and implement programs that enhance employee satisfaction, foster collaboration, and promote a sense of purpose within our organization. If you’re passionate about employee engagement and making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

Essential Functions:
  • Create a 2-year tactical plan to ensure Employee Experience program is moving in the direction of reaching its long-term objectives.
  • Work in close partnership with stakeholders throughout Breakthrough T1D to gain buy-in, solicit program feedback, coach others on program objectives, tactics, strategy, & tools, and increase program utilization.
  • Manage the planning & execution of the Employee Experience program including developing roadmaps, detailed project plans with intervention design and implementation timelines, interdependency plans, and expectations of all stakeholders. Accept accountability for overall program implementation.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices to create all interventions and resources necessary to advance program objectives.
  • Provide training and coaching to managers on how to improve employee experience.
  • Create, monitor, track, and report on metrics that demonstrate overall program effectiveness.

Candidates should have experience leading programs including planning multi-year strategies, conducting discovery sessions, developing interventions, deploying tools and resources, and providing incredible service. Preference will be given to those with experience with large firm consulting experience - Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, BCG, or similar.

Preference will be given to those with broader knowledge and understanding of talent management, organizational development, and integrated talent management.

Candidates with a degree in Industrial & Organizational psychology or related field and more than 3 years of experience managing programs will be highly considered.

This position is ideally based out of New York, NY; however, highly qualified candidates located elsewhere in the U.S. will be considered. Infrequent travel as needed (approx. 5%).

Compensation: Base salary $90,000 – $115,000, major metropolitan differential of up to 5%, Eligible for annual bonus incentive up to 10%

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
