Job summary

State of Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Family Independence, seeks a Public Service Manager I to oversee SNAP and related nutrition programs across Augusta and other Maine offices. You will supervise SNAP staff, develop plans, coordinate with partners, and ensure efficient program operations.

The role requires leadership, policy analysis, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives such as Summer EBT and Nourish ME, with partial telework after training.

Qualifications

• Eight-year combination of education, training, and/or experience with at least four years in supervision or program management.
• Experience with SNAP, Summer EBT, and Child Nutrition programs preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to lead teams through organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SNAP program administration and related nutrition initiatives.
• Develops state operation plans and monitors measures of success.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners; hire and train staff; ensure policy compliance.
• Supervise SNAP staff and ensure efficient program operations.
