Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a qualified professional to supervise facility counseling programs, ensuring ACA/DOC/DDAP compliance and coordination with referral sources. The role includes staff supervision, program development, and direct client services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

This leadership position requires a Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and licensure in the behavioral health field.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or appropriate discipline.
  • Two (2) years related clinical supervisory experience.
  • Licensure in the behavioral science or counseling field and certification in the behavioral science or counseling field.
  • Good visual and auditory abilities to interact with re-entrants.
  • Ability to use personal computers and associated software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees facility programs and counseling areas.
  • Provides direct supervision including staffing, schedules, re-entrant affairs and file compliance.
  • Ensures counseling staff adhere to referral sources and jurisdictions.
  • Organizes, implements and supervises the Correctional Recovery program as defined by the Program Manual.
  • Work closely with referral sources to ensure smooth operation and coordination of all program services.
  • Provides staff training and implementation of program design.
  • Provides and documents individual/group staff supervision.
  • Provides direct services including facilitation of classes/group sessions, individual counseling, treatment planning, assessment; document progress and reviews.
  • Leads the Classification Committee and ensures that intakes are conducted properly.
  • Completes training plans and records; ensures counseling staff participate in required training.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of and familiarity with ACA, DOC, and DDAP Accreditation and ensures program compliance.
  • Writes social histories, clinical assessments, and develop treatment plans.
  • Monitors re-entrant progress toward goals and objectives as stated in the treatment plan and update the treatment as required.
  • Prepares parole summaries, Extraordinary Occurrence reports, and Employee Report of Incidents.
  • Completes weekly and monthly reports as required for referring agencies.
  • Obtains funding for residents.
  • Assists clients with medical and mental health appointments, housing options, and other needs as they arise.
  • Develops a strong rapport with referring agencies and community agencies.
  • Submits required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Supervises a caseload of up to eight inpatient re-entrants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Summary

This position is responsible for the facility programs and the counseling areas, supervision of all counseling staff including staff scheduling, training coordination, annual performance and file compliance. This position has the necessary knowledge and familiarity with ACA, DOC, and DDAP regulations to assure facility compliance with the regulatory standards. Finally, this position responsible to ensure smooth operation and coordination of program services including Inpatient D & A, Work Release and Outpatient Programming.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees facility programs and counseling areas.
  • Provides direct supervision including staffing, schedules, re-entrant affairs and file compliance. Ensures all counseling staff is aware of their areas of responsibility. Evaluates Counselors’ performance of their duties including observation of re-entrant sessions and random file reviews.
  • Ensures that Counselors and programming complies with requirements of all referral sources and jurisdictions.
  • Organizes, implements and supervises the Correctional Recovery program as defined by the Program Manual.
  • Work closely with referral sources to ensure smooth operation and coordination of all program services.

Facility Overview

GEO Reentry Services offers correctional agencies in-custody treatment programs for individuals nearing the end of their jail or prison sentences. Starting treatment before they are released back into the community facilitates consistency in treatment and helps individuals be better prepared for their transition to the community. By assessing an individual’s risk and needs and initiating programming while in prison, the transition to a community-based program is seamless and behavior change is expedited.
