Job summary

Google is seeking a Program Manager for Data Center Construction to lead complex, cross-functional data center projects from concept through deployment. You will coordinate requirements, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications across offices and time zones.

In this role, you will manage multiple data center initiatives, collaborate with engineering, construction and operations teams, and ensure projects stay on budget and meet quality standards. Onsite work five days a week is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of program or project management experience.
  • 2 years of experience with data center project management and construction teams.
  • 2 years of experience with electrical, mechanical, or related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple data center projects from inception to completion.
  • Gather requirements and translate them into effective solutions for data center operations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, construction and security to keep projects on schedule.
  • Communicate risks, progress, and decisions to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards within budget.

Ability to be onsite 5 days a week.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience with technical teams responsible for project management, engineering, and construction of data centers.
  • 2 years of experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking or fiber, server equipment, systems, or infrastructure.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  • 2 years of experience managing vendor relationships.
  • 2 years of experience with data center equipment/environments, including electrical switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems and fire safety systems.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, and scheduling and achieving objectives within set goals.
  • Knowledge of design and construction industry standards, including design-build processes, associated agreements, and facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
